What got me posting all these songs today, you ask? Well, I was looking up my lyrics and music for Squall by Eiko Matsumoto. I am going to be singing this song this weekend at karaoke and need to practice as it has been about 6 months since I sung it.

I don’t know if this is the most beautiful song ever, but to me it is in my top 5 anyway. My signature song has always been Tsuki no Tragedy, but I never balk at a chance to sing this one. I just wish I could sing even 1/10th as good as Eiko Matsumoto.

Here are a couple of my favorite Japanese lines to sing. Man, I love this song.

Sakki made no toori ame ga
Uso mitai ni kirei na sora

Watashi koi ni ochiteru, kurushii kurai
Mou kakusenai atsui tokimeki

Watashi koi wo shite iru, koi ni ochiteru
Mou kakusanai atsui tokimeki

Sagashiteta… anata dake…

It was the ending theme for the Japanese drama - Perfect Love.

Lyrics: from J-Pop Music Station go there for the Japanese and English lyrics side by side in a nice table. Seriously, this song is one of the most beautiful of all.

The rain passing through until just recently
Leaves an unbelievably beautiful sky
Because you smile at me so
At some point, I’ll find happiness

I tried to grasp the sleeve of your slightly large shirt
As it was slipping through my fingers

I’m in love to the point of sadness
I can’t hide it anymore, this pain it causes me
I want to be with you more, together
I want you to grant my summer longing

I’ve been searching… for only you…

The sweat on my glass of iced tea
And the polaroid that I held too much
Because we flirted so
The return home felt so lonely

The train platform, colored by the setting sun
As you wave your hand, you’re growing so far away

I’ve fallen in love to the point of suffering
I can’t hide it anymore, the heat of my beating heart
I’ve always dreamed of meeting you again
I want you to understand my summer longing

And I touched the rain… so I need your love…

I’m in love, I’ve fallen in love
I won’t hide it anymore, the heat of my beating heart
I dreamed that I could finally meet you again
This summer longing won’t ever cool

I’ve been searching… for only you…
