iPhone as Mobile IT Management Platform
Computerworld gets it. The new iPhone is so good at web tasks it could be used as a mobile platform or dashboard to admin an entire network. With the advent of Ajax and the object oriented libraries with which one can programmatically accomplish administration ( say that three times fast ), the iPhone is primed, pumped and ready to be the next generation of IT tool!
I have already done some work making a nice little dashboard app to manage SQL servers at home and it is working pretty well. It would be interesting to see someone take the initiative and do a nice Active Directory admin app or a full on dashboard type thing.
iPhone is going places and the rest of mobile computing is pretty much struggling to even catch up let alone get ahead at this point. I am really excited to be part of this revolution.
