Scott, a friend of mine here in Washington, emailed me Thursday and wanted to know if I would like to hit the east side ( Bellevue ) in his new ride. “Sure,” I said.

Well, I should have known Scott would knock the socks off as he is as into cars as I am and what do you know, he got himself a really nice little spider.

Ferrari F430 Spider

Sweet car and really fun to drive. I lamented to him about my current Ferrari search and he just kind of laughed at me. The bugger! As we took turns driving this red beauty about Bellevue and Kirkland and parts north of there ( hey, we can’t really drive it in the city ya know ), he began to extol the virtues of the F430. I agree, it is one heck of a nice sports car, but I still liked my older F355 better than this one. It really is hard to say why. The F430 is more refined, has better performance, and is all around an improvement on the F355, but it just does not have the same appeal as it does.

I suppose it just might be my favoritism or something, but the F430 looks more flat and space shippy if that is a way to describe it. We will see. Maybe. Especially if my search keeps on going like it is. Every F355 I go look at ( been to 4 so far ) has been either overpriced or woefully without recent service. Oh well, patience is key in this battle, but if it goes much longer I will just chill out until next year. This kind of car isn’t really a good snow vehicle anyway. ;)
