Sharepoint Tutorials About to Launch
My Sharepoint and Windows programming tutorials are about to launch. I need to complete the video portion of the tutorial, but the script and the screenshots are about complete.
Just some info for your thinking:
Topic of the first tutorial is the install of Windows Server 2003, Office, Visual Studio 2005, Windows Sharepoint Services 3.0 and the related extensions and SDKs. Note, I didn’t mention MOSS 2007–Just Sharepoint Services. With that said consider this
This first tutorial has over 230 screenshots to go through
There are over 180 steps in the install
There were 8 pages of notes
So maybe you can see why good tutorials take a while and good books almost never happen. This is hard folks and I won’t do a crap job. So, while I am not the fastest, I hope to at least be accurate!
I know I won’t succeed totally. It is next to impossible, but at least it will be an interesting experience. Also, the first writing is always the hardest and from now on should be a lot simpler. Still, lots of screenshots and all sorts of clicks and selections. Remember, Microsoft thinks like computers. They don’t really understand people all that well and Sharepoint is one of the most perfect examples of this I have ever seen. Thus, the tutorials are far, far longer that what they should be. Ah, c’est la vie.
Hopefully, I will be completed by next Saturday!
