The Best Inspirational Song Ever
From William Shatner commenting on the haters and Murky Dismals in the world to a song that is, in my opinion, the most inspirational song I have ever heard. I have started using this song in my management training as the opening to the class. It can do more to uplift spirits than all the stupid “team building games” I have ever seen.
I love this song as well.
It was written by Diane Warren and first performed by Rod Stewart in Patch Adams. The original title was “Faith of the Heart” though now it has been retitled “Where My Heart Will Take Me”. This version is preformed by Russell Watson for the opening to Star Trek: Enterprise.
It’s been a long road, getting from there to here.
It’s been a long time, but my time is finally near.
And I can feel the change in the wind right now.
Nothing’s in my way.
And they’re not gonna hold me down no more,
no they’re not gonna hold me down. It’s been a long night.
Trying to find my way.
Been through the darkness.
Now I finally have my day.And I will see my dream come alive at last.
I will touch the sky.And they’re not gonna hold me down no more,
no they’re not gonna change my mind.I’ve known the wind so cold, I’ve seen the darkest days.
But now the winds I feel, are only winds of change.
I’ve been through the fire and I’ve been through the rain.
But I’ll be fine …Cause I’ve got faith of the heart.
I’m going where my heart will take me.
I’ve got faith to believe. I can do anything.
I’ve got strength of the soul.
And no one’s gonna bend or break me.
I can reach any star.
I’ve got faith, faith of the heart.
Here is the Rod Stewart version set to Homeward Bound: The Incredible Journey, a great movie about three pets that fight to get home after their family leaves them on a farm. This video is touching in the extreme and if you have ever seen the movie you will instantly fall in love with this fan video.
Homeward Bound should not be confused with Milo and Otis, another movie about pets and a good one. Milo and Otis is actually based on a Japanese film named “Koneko Monogatari”, in English “A Kittens Story”. Trivia: The original took fours worth filming and over 400,000 feet of film. Dang. Milo and Otis is good too, check them both out if you are an animal lover you will enjoy either one.
